Damak was a fisherman from Ambo Island, living in a modest house by the sea. He made a living by catching fish and selling them to buy rice. One day, while fishing, he heard a loud explosion and discovered some fishermen using bombs to catch fish illegally. Furious at the damage they caused to the sea's ecosystem, Damak threatened them with his knife, leveraging his renowned martial arts skills to drive them away. From then on, he dedicated himself to protecting the sea from illegal fishing.

As a reward for his efforts, the village leader gifted Damak a beautiful black hat. This hat was light, durable, and versatile—it kept him cool in the sun, dry in the rain, provided shade when he slept, and warmth in the wind. Damak cherished the hat, vowing never to part with it.

However, one day while fishing, a large bird swooped down and snatched the hat from Damak's head. Despite his desperate pleas, the bird flew away with the hat. Determined to retrieve it, Damak chased the bird up into the hills. When he finally found it resting, he attempted to use his knife to retrieve the hat, but missed the bird. The bird flew off, leaving the hat behind.

Damak reclaimed his hat, but as he pulled his knife from the ground, he discovered something incredible: the hole his knife had made was filled with gold. Overjoyed, he gathered as much gold as he could, filling his pockets and the hat. With his newfound wealth, Damak was well-off but continued to honor his commitment to protecting the sea from illegal fishing.
