the first child in the family?

Despite being the oldest child in the family, Ani wasn't chosen to rule Kildenree because her mother, the queen, was concerned that because of her gift for communicating with animals, no one in Kildenree would ever be able to trust her.

4. Explain how ‘the goose girl’ got her name.

She was known as "The Goose Girl" because she worked with geese in the Bayern kingdom.

5. What was Selia’s plan to abolish Kildenree?

Selia's strategy involved assuming Ani's identity as the princess in order to seize control.

6. How did Ani finally get her identity back?

Ani finally regained her identity after confronting Selia and demonstrating to the king of Bayern and Geric who she really was.

Integrate and interpret

1. How did Ani’s character change in the story?

Ani was innocent and unsure of her own identity at the start of the story.

However, it was revealed at the conclusion of the story that Ani developed into a brave and courageous woman.

2. Describe Ani’s and the queen’s characteristics? What differences and
similarities are there?

A young girl named Ani used to live in her mother's shadow.

But over time, she developed into a strong and courageous woman. The queen, meanwhile, was a strong and considerate woman.

She expressed a great deal of concern for her kingdom and people.

3. In the story, it was told that the queen did not appoint Ani as the future
queen. What do you think of the queen’s deed? Is it a betrayal? Is it a
political move? Or is it a selfish act? Why? Explain.

It was self-serving of the queen not to appoint Ani.

There is no compelling argument against Ani becoming a future queen.

Ani's ability to communicate with animals is a gift from God, and in my opinion, she should not be ashamed of it.

4. What lessons can you learn from the story?

• Keep going and don't give up.

• Embrace who you are and express gratitude for everything you have.

• Treasure and respect you.

• Be bold, take a chance, and rule yourself.

1. Have you ever found a similar character to Selia around you? Tell us
the person’s characteristics. If you are asked to give the person an
advice, what would the advice be?

Yes, I have come across people who are similar to Selia. The individual is selfish and is prone to feeling jealous of others. Betraying someone won't get them anywhere good, is the advice given to the individual.

2. Have you ever been surprised with a reward for doing good deeds and
a warning or even punishment for doing bad things? Describe your
experience.

I once assisted an elderly woman close to my home, and the following day, she gave me a gift as payment.

3. After reading ‘The Goose Girl’ story, how do you understand fairy
tales?

Fairy tales are fantastical and unreal stories, but they also convey moral lessons that we can all benefit from.
